Grannies Day at St. Catherine's Home, Kidderpore

Grannies Day at St. Catherine's Home

26th July also known as Grandparents Day was celebrated with great joy at St. Catherine's Home. The Church celebrates the feast of Sts.Jochim and Anne on this day. Sts. Jochim and Anne were the parents of Mary and the grandparents of Jesus. So that is how this day is dedicated to our dear grandparents whom we all love so much. The presence of grandparents in the family makes a big impact on thelives of the children. It is very often the grandparents who ensure that that the most important values are passed down to their grandchildren. Attention to the elderly makes a difference  in  the society. Society moves forward when it respects the wisdom of the elderly. The Grannies at St.Catherine's Home were in a festive  mood on thier special day. The sisters arranged for a musical evening for the ladies where they sang their favourite  songs and soul stirring poems.
